We are excited to see the construction progress of West Valley College's New Learning Resource Center (LRC). Originally constructed in 1972, the renovation of the LRC encompasses re-envisioned program spaces, exterior building façade modifications, a new roof, and completely new interior finishes and furniture. It will support various programs and services, including the library’s collections, digital media center, TV/recording studio, writing center, tutorial/assessment center, multiple collaborations spaces, a makerspace, and librarian services/offices. Mark Cavagnero returned to his hometown of Torrington, Connecticut, to present to the Torrington Historical Society. More than 80 community members came to hear Mark speak on his preliminary plans and design concept for the History Education Center. “The project will address a critical need for a climate-controlled museum and more space for expanded programs, exhibits, and events including a fully accessible research library,” Mark said.
