🦋 New Insights into #Butterfly Conservation in Luxembourg A comprehensive Atlas on butterflies in Luxembourg, edited by LIST, has been released, revealing pressing trends and conservation challenges based on over 150,000 records spanning two centuries. Key Findings: 🟦 24 butterfly species are threatened, with 6 critically endangered. 🟦 15 species have gone regionally extinct. 🟦 The Minett UNESCO Biosphere (one of Europe’s Prime Butterfly Areas) is the largest reservoir of threatened species for Luxembourg. ℹ This Atlas, cofinanced by Ministère de l'Environnement, du Climat et de la Biodiversité, Musée national d'histoire naturelle Luxembourg, and LIST, provides essential guidelines for researchers, policymakers, and volunteers, emphasizing the importance of protecting these vital indicators of #ecosystemhealth.
