Today we made history by honoring history. Longtab Brewing’s Dave and Mike made the jump into Normandy on a C47 named ‘Thats All Brother”, the actual plane that led the main airborne invasion of Normandy. On D-Day 1944, the plane piloted by Lt. Col John Donalson led over 800 C-47s that dropped over 13,000 paratroopers into a battle that changed the course of mankind. Today, the jump was beautiful, and the cheering crowds made it even more special. On this Memorial Day, we are proud to make a donation to the Green Beret Foundation from the proceeds from 32BRAVO1 - our beer to honor the memory and legacy of SFC Victor Cervantes. The Green Beret Foundation honors Green Berets past and present by providing Special Forces Soldiers and their families with emergency, immediate, and ongoing support. GREEN BERET SFC VICTOR CERVANTES was killed in action on June 10, 2005 in the vicinity of Orgun-e, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. SFC Cervantes was an 18B Special Forces Weapons Sergeant assigned to 1st Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), at Fort Bragg N.C.

Well, we were pleasantly surprised this morning to learn that we received not 1, but 15 Untappd 2023 Community Awards for Longtab brews, 7 of them achieving 1st in their category, 5 placed 2nd, and 3 placed 3rd. Based on some very raw analysis, it appears we were the third most awarded brewery in the State of Texas - behind Jester King and Pinthouse (that’s some very good company)! We also won #1 Nationally for our Cactus Land Brewing collaboration Ghillie Ghillie! Thank you Untappd and especially Longtab fans for the great honor! Longtab will participating in the 80th anniversary of D-DAY in Normandy this June! This week Mike and Dave were on site in Palatka, FL with the Round Canopy Parachute Team for a little jump refresher to get current! Thanks to the @rcpt for their amazing training and hospitality, and especially our team leader Frank Cashman (WO mafia) - first class operation all around! We are also working on a commemorative beer for the event - we will release more info on it in a month or so - but here’s a sneak peek. Longtab Brewing is proud to announce our 4th annual Limping Lady Pale Ale, brewed with this year´s Pink Boots Society hop blend! For the fourth year running, we invited women in the industry to help brew this beer last week. It's always a great time to bring our community together and work with such amazing women. Longtab has long supported women in the industry, and we are proud to have been a part of San Antonio's local Pink Boots Society chapter since its establishment. Look for this beer to be released on International Women’s Day - March 8th at noon. It will be on tap and available in 4 packs to go. Limping Lady is named in honor of Virginia Hall was a French-speaking American spy for the OSS in France during WWII.  For over a year and half, she played a crucial role in organizing French resistance movements, supplied agents with money and weapons, and operated safe houses. As an amputee, Virginia walked with a discernible limp. She was infamously known as “The Limping Lady” by both Allied and Nazi forces, and the Gestapo said “she is the most dangerous of all Allied spies”! She is the only civilian woman to be given the Distinguished Service Cross during WWII. As promised, today we made a $1,537 donation to the SSG Alex Viola Foundation - which in turn supports the Green Beret Foundation and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. This donation was a portion of the proceeds of #7 American Lager - our dedication beer brewed in honor of fallen Green Beret SSG Alex Viola which is now completely sold out. We were so honored to be a part of this beer - from working with the family to being on location at the car show in Keller Texas held in Alex’s honor. It was a first class experience from start to finish. Incidentally, the car show raised over $117,000 this year, which each of the two supported organization receiving a check for over $52,000! Come celebrate Longtab's 4th Anniversary this Friday and Saturday! We will be releasing a 4th Anniversary Belgian Imperial Stout, both on tap and in bottles, and you’ll see the return of DOL - our award winning Belgian Strong Blonde! We will also be serving house Smoked Herb Crusted Prime Rib with twice baked potatoes, and housemade horseradish cream. And yes, the glass is the pic will also be available…:) See you there! Cheers!

Throwback to January 17th, 2020 - our “official” grand opening! We were in our original space before we expanded - hard to think we actually started in such a tiny spot! Lots of crazy challenges and changes since then, but here we are just a couple of days from celebrating our 4th anniversary! We’d like to formally THANK all who have supported us over the years, we would NOT be here without you! We have some great things in store for 2024 and we are really excited to share them with you!
