Priscilla A Frase, MD, CMIO at Ozarks Healthcare, delivered an inspiring keynote speech about physician EHR satisfaction and the impact of the Arch Collaborative. Her dedication to improving the ease of use of EMRs for physicians has led to remarkable results. Dr. Frase noted, "As a physician, I knew that something had to change. We needed to improve the ease of use of the EMR or our physicians. I focused on the Arch Collaborative Guidebook and participated in the Arch Collaborative Summit. From 2019 to 2021 our data jump was almost 50 points. I wasn’t expecting this level of improvement from measurement to measurement. I didn’t think an organization like ours could ever be in the 100th percentile. I can’t thank KLAS enough for helping us improve the lives of our physicians and our patients.”   Dr. Frase's journey is a testament to the power of collaboration and dedication. Kudos to her and the entire team at Ozarks Healthcare for their incredible achievements! 👏 #KLASArchSummit2024 #EHRSatisfaction

This morning, David Chestek DO, CMIO at UI Health, was joined by Dr. David B. Graham, MD, VP & CMIO at LifeBridge Health, and Kristin Conley DO, CMIO at Frederick Health to discuss enhancing interoperability to elevate clinician experience. During the discussion, Dr. Chestek emphasized the need for education, user-friendly EHR systems, and national standards. He noted, “Education needs to happen, but the EHR also needs to be easier to use. I shouldn’t have to ‘know the trick’ to use it. Is education and training important? Yes. But it’s also important for EHR vendors to build tools that are useful for every clinical specialty. Additionally, we need to push our government to create national standards that will advance interoperability and patient care.”   Dr. Chestek’s insights highlight the critical balance between training healthcare professionals and improving the design of EHR systems to enhance usability and interoperability. His call to action for national standards underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in advancing patient care. #KLASArchSummit2024 #EHRSatisfaction

Earlier today, Jenna Anderson, VP of Collaborative Insights at KLAS Research, delivered an impactful speech at the KLAS Arch Collaborative Learning Summit. She highlighted a critical issue in the healthcare industry, stating, "The average cost of turnover for a bedside nurse is $52,350. When surveyed, 32% of those nurses cite their EHR as a contributor to burnout. When you engage with KLAS, you are investing in the success of your organization, reducing turnover and reducing cost to your hospital and to the industry as a whole.”   Jenna's insights underscore the importance of addressing EHR-related burnout to improve nurse retention and achieve significant cost savings. Engaging with KLAS can be a strategic move for healthcare organizations aiming to enhance their operational efficiency and support their staff effectively.
