What's corneal blindness? The National Institutes of Health defines corneal blindness as "a group of eye disorders that change the corneal transparency, causing corneal scarring and blindness." It's caused by infection, injury, inflammation, or inherited conditions. Corneal blindness is preventable, treatable, and reversible. In the U.S., untreated corneal blindness is essentially a condition of the past. However, in low- and middle-income countries, preventive measures are inaccessible, quality eye care is often scarce, and infrastructure to support corneal transplantation is lacking. The impacts of corneal blindness are profound, including reduced quality of life, increased healthcare costs, loss of productivity, educational barriers, and gender disparities. For these reasons, KeraLink International has made it its mission to eradicate corneal blindness by providing innovative and affordable solutions and technologies to underserved populations in LMICs.

Congratulations to our CEO, Dsvid Greene.
We're thrilled to announce the inauguration of the "David Green Centre of Sustainable Eye Care" at Dr. Shroff's Charity Eye Hospital, Delhi! 🏥 Join us in celebrating Mr. David Green's incredible journey with SCEH. His unwavering dedication to enhancing accessibility and sustainability in healthcare technology is truly commendable. David's collaboration with SCEH has been instrumental in initiatives that would prevent corneal blindness, enable early detection and leverage technology to reduce the healthcare cost making it more affordable for the community and sustainable for the hospital. At the heart of SCEH's collaboration with David Green is our commitment to provide affordable and accessible eye health care not just for those who can afford but also for low income patients. He has been helping SCEH improve processes, optimize resources and leverage technology to become self-sufficient, generating revenue to subsidize treatments for low-income individuals. Sustainable hospitals are the backbone of community health services, ensuring that no one is left behind. Through this collaboration, we're witnessing tangible improvements in eye healthcare for the community. #EyeHealth #Sustainability #CommunityCare
