Last month, in partnership with KABOOM! and the Washington Housing Conservancy, our MSE Foundation, Washington Capitals and Washington Wizards had a Design Day at Huntwood Courts where we will be building a MSE-themed playspace this September! 🛝

We’re thrilled to announce that KABOOM! has teamed up with NBA superstar Jerami Grant and his foundation, Hour Generation, and The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission to build a new playground at Palmer Park in Prince George’s County, MD! Jerami attended high school in Prince George’s County and is committed to providing the community that raised him with information and resources they need to thrive – including new playspaces! This will be the second build with the Hour Generation Foundation and KABOOM!. "As someone who grew up playing basketball in the DMV area, I understand the power of community spaces in shaping young minds and dreams. Partnering with KABOOM! and M-NCPPC to fund a playground build in Landover, MD isn't just about giving back; it's about providing kids with playspaces to thrive and fostering a sense of belonging in environments where children can flourish. Thank you to the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation for supporting the MLA Sherman Schoolyard Build with Oakland Unified School District, Workday, and Kaiser Permanente! This transformation includes the addition of a new kid-designed playground, multi-sport court, mini-soccer pitch, three nature exploration and garden areas, murals, a Little Town Library, and more. We’re working with our partners to bring #PlayspaceEquity to Oakland. What happened when the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation teamed up with The Skatepark Project and KABOOM! to launch #BuiltToPlay? More than 90 playspaces and skateparks have been created across Western New York and Southeast Michigan since 2018, thanks to community partnerships, expert support, and a catalytic Foundation investment.
