JRC is officially assembling its running team for the 2024 Marine Corps Marathon & 10K, supporting Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) with their mission to serve the family members of our fallen heroes. Last month, JRC attended The 2024 Nuclear Triad Symposium (NTS). Aligning with the 2022 Nuclear Posture Review's call to action to develop a capable motivated [nuclear enterprise] workforce, Strategic Systems Programs' (SSP) Director of Plans and Programs, Kelly Lee, zeroed in on people being the real strategic assets for both the Navy and the Air Force. JRC Vice President & NTS industry panelist, Jeffrey Duncan, added to this point, advocating for industry to invest in bringing in new employees to the enterprise, stating, "we are at an inflection point for industry and government as we modernize". Last week JRC’s HR team attended The Annual SHRM Conference to learn and implement innovative HR disciples, diving deep into cutting-edge insights on AI advancements, emerging regulations, and the latest best practices for growing organizations. Jenny Pierce, SHRM-SCP (JRC’s HR Director) and Matt Sedlock, aPHR (JRC HR Manager) attended workshops and listened to inspiring keynotes covering everything from managing a diverse workforce to innovative HR technologies. We continue to support this #1 professional development conference for HR professionals each year.

We are proud to announce the promotion of Floyd Rinehold to Manager of SLCM-N Section in the Maritime and Security Division (M&S). The SLCM-N program is responsible for developing the next generation Tactical Nuclear Cruise Missile for employment on submarines. With the projected growth of the SLCM-N program, Floyd is the ideal leader to develop next generation technologies that will help our customer achieve their most challenging goals. JRC Integrated Systems was recognized by The Huntsville Madison County Chamber for our support as an an official Chamber Ambassador/ Emissary. Thank you to John Buckley, Senior Business Development Analyst, for leading this partnership on behalf of JRC. The ambassador and emissary programs allow chamber members to become more engaged with the community. Chamber Ambassadors are individuals who help represent and promote the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber, as well as promote their parent companies. We continue to support the community support The Chamber provides when it comes to patronizing small businesses in the greater Huntsville Madison County area.

JRC attended this year’s National Veteran Small Business Coalition VETS24 Conference. This annual event brings together procurement-ready small businesses with buyers & Procurement Decision Makers (PDMs) from both Federal agencies and large GovCon prime contractors. The VETS24 Conference is the nation’s leading multi-agency small business event of the year. JRC Senior Proposal Manager, Gayla Suddarth attended the event this year with Astra Solutions LLC , our small business protégé. Together, during various sessions we presented our Mentor-Protégé teaming strategy, sharing the successful work our companies have done together. Astra participated in the event’s pitch competition for small businesses.  Out of 100+ applicants, Astra’s CEO and Founder, Shannon Starling’s video (submitted pre-conference) was awarded a slot to complete. presented and attained 3rdplace in the pitch competition. This week our JRC Rise Internship Students kicked off the soft skills leadership development portion of their summer programming. Our Rise students were hand selected to lead cutting edge technology projects for our government customers. This first development session reaffirmed the unique skills and leadership potenial within this exceptional group.
