The Blood Center board is comprised of community leaders and hospital representatives who serve on a voluntary basis. As a nonprofit, community service organization, The Blood Center supplies blood, blood components, and plasma derivatives to local hospitals throughout South Louisiana and parts of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Nadia de la Houssaye and Allison Bell, co-leaders of the Healthcare Industry Team, together with associates Emily Vorhoff, JD/CPA and Keiana Palmer, authored the "Law and Practice" and "Trends and Developments" chapters of the USA guide, which is used as a resource to compare the latest legal information in digital healthcare across 12 jurisdictions. The "Law and Practice" chapter navigates healthcare regulation, encompassing telehealth, digital health tech, medical devices, data privacy, and AI integration, while the "Trends and Developments" chapter covers the evolving acceptance and regulatory challenges of telemedicine and digital health services post-pandemic. Jones Walker was proud to sponsor a reception in celebration of the United States’ 248th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence at the US Embassy in Georgetown, Guyana, on June 27, 2024. Keiana Palmer, an associate in the Corporate Practice Group and member of the firm’s Guyana Task Force, was in attendance to hear remarks from Louisiana native and Ambassador to the Co-Operative Republic of Guyana Nicole Theriot, President of the Co-Operative Republic of Guyana Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, and several other American and Guyanese diplomats in honor of Independence Day. During the reception, Keiana had the opportunity to meet President Ali and discuss US-Guyana relations with government officials, private sector representatives, community leaders, partners, and key stakeholders. The Jones Walker Guyana Task Force supports the goal of strengthening Louisiana’s economic ties to the Guyanese energy, infrastructure, maritime, logistics, and agribusiness industry sectors.
