The highest purpose is healing, or housing, or community, or any of the other of thousands of uses society has for the built environment. In fifty years, most people won't give a hoot about what a building cost, but they will care about what happened in the space, what it supported and continues to support. We have learned that transparency and collaboration need.... privacy. Huh? Sharing under-developed information widely can cause confusion and delay. So, sometimes, you need a middle-ground in between "just me" and "all stakeholders". One banger of a feature we shipped recently in this vein is draft item collaboration. A little over half of items drafted in Join now utilize this to share potential project decisions with some, but not all, stakeholders, before the item is ready to be included in overall project trends. So, we can keep Sir Topham Hatt happy! As a recent preconstruction leader put it: "It's a powerful option. A lot of things come up on the fly in conversation, but we need a bit more time to investigate. It's helpful to keep that internal until it's more complete."

Our project transitioned from a TVD log in a Smartsheet to Join midway during Preconstruction. Join made the transition easy by asking us the right questions, quick feedback loops, and working with us on an implementable plan. New nav. Who dis? It turns out, when you relentlessly and rapidly ship new functionality for the better part of a decade, your app miiiiight become harder to get around. We had an experience one too many times: someone would tell us "Join is only for X", we'd show them something, and they'd say "oh wow, it can do that too??" So, we decided to make an investment in navigation so that wide range of functionality the Join platform brings to the table is easier to get to and faster to use. We shipped this new navigation last night. Thank you to all the folks who gave feedback along the way.
