Ethics of Data Visualization Peter Haferl presents two major ways in which a visualization, while technically containing accurate data, may come across differently to a viewer. The first of these is delivering an exaggerated or understated message with the way the data is presented. For this, Haferl used examples such as beginning the y-axis scale from 0 to show an accurate relationship between the different data points as too narrow of a scale could show a much larger difference between points than is truly there and vice versa. The second consideration is imparting the reverse of the message contained in the data. For this, the example was used that the values on the y axis were inverted, showing a negative correlation in the data, when in fact the data had a positive correlation. Ethics is a large part of data visualization and must always be kept at the back of the mind when making visualizations. #dashbaordvisuals #ethics #data #Inrika #businessanalyst #jobs #carrier https://lnkd.in/e6QkB_D9

Present your data like a pro One of the things that caught my eye in this one is how data presentation should be adapted to technology and make it easier for those viewing the presentation on their phones or computers. That is an interesting point that I never thought of, but when downloading papers to read, I did notice how the paper would be structured with print form being in mind when for majority of the audience, that is not the case. I thought most of the recommendations were very useful. Although most of it was kind of obvious, most of the recommendations were centered around how to make it more comprehensive and easily accessible from the audience's perspective, which can sometimes be difficult when focusing on creating the dataset. #dataanalyst #visualization #technology #Inrika #businessanalyst #jobs #carrier https://lnkd.in/dRFGjWm

Top 6 e-signature software tools Interesting article comparing the top 6 e-signature software tools. I am sure that the providers of these tools have gathered plenty of data from the increased use of e-signature during the COVID pandemic. They can use this data to enhance their offerings further and argue for the continued use of e-signature even as businesses return to in-person operations. #esignature #covid #software #remoteworking #Inrika #businessanalyst #jobs #carrier https://lnkd.in/epYSPR47

Collateral Management System: 9 Features and Functions You Need Great article giving an overview of what to look for in a collateral management system. Of the 9 features and functions presented, I particularly think the 'Geo-coding, Address Mapping and Viewing Collateral within a Geofence' is an interesting one. Having a collateral tracking system that empowers the loan assistant with the ability to view all collaterals in a defined geographic footprint by simply drawing target area on a map will definitely help reduce risk of credit default and fraud. #bank #collateralmanagementsystem #creditriskmanagement #loanmanagementsystem #geocoding #loans https://lnkd.in/exXcVye3

Web3 is crucial for data sovereignty in the metaverse With Mark Zuckerberg creating waves in the media about building the metaverse users are concerned that their metaverse identities will be a slave to these corporations. They need to figure out a way to put data in the hands of the users for them to trust the metaverse and thats where Web3 comes in. Users hyper-real identity in the metaverse could be compromised if all their data are owned by a single corporation. #Inrika #businessanalyst #jobs #carrier https://lnkd.in/da-GSz4z

Why Real-Time Data Is Key To Web3 It's not easy to develop Web3 and people don't think about what happens on the back end of the transactions. I like the example from the article that users are pushing for currency switches in real-time. This means that validation, risk analysis, anti-money laundering, fraud detection and post-processing in data lakes and data warehouses will all need to happen 24/7 and in real-time. This means that a lot of institutions need to re-think their systems and operations to accommodate for the future of the internet. https://lnkd.in/eShmuh5R
