Earlier this week, State Rep. Brandun Schweizer and State Sen. Paul Faraci, along with Mike Marron from VERMILION ADVANTAGE, joined IMA’s Randy Prince in presenting Danville Metal Stamping Co., Inc. with an Employer Training Investment Program (ETIP) grant on behalf of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. Through this program, over 6,000 employees were trained in 2022 with more than 50 companies participating. Danville Metal manufactures sheet metal aerospace components, completing forming, machining, laser, and welding operations. More great news for Illinois with the US Dept Of Energy announcing the Belvidere Stellantis plant will receive $334M in federal dollars under the domestic manufacturing conversation grant! “Illinois has created a strong ecosystem for EVs and their supply chains with new incentive packages and workforce efforts that have been led by Gov. Pritzker. Today’s announcement that Stellantis will receive a domestic manufacturing auto conversion grant to rebuild and strengthen their facility while strengthening supply chains is a huge win for northern Illinois and will hasten the creation of thousands of good-paying jobs and community investment.” - Mark Denzler, CEO of the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association. We had a great visit with IMA member LMT Onsrud in Waukegan yesterday, joining State Senator Adriane Johnson, M.J., PHR, SHRM-CP and State Representative Daniel Didech for a tour of the manufacturing facility after presenting an Employer Training Investment Program (ETIP) grant on behalf of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
