Ensuring Sustainable Textile Practices: 🌱✨ As part of my role in the textile industry, I'm proud to be involved in maintaining Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certification. GOTS certification signifies that the textiles we produce are made from organic fibers and adhere to environmentally responsible processes. This involves regular audits by accredited certification bodies (IDFL or other CB's), ensuring that our practices align with strict criteria including sourcing organic materials, responsible manufacturing, and proper labeling. It's a commitment to sustainable and socially responsible practices in the textile sector. #Sustainability #TextileIndustry #GOTSCertification

#testing What is it? Fill power measures the volume a specific amount of filling material occupies, when compressed with a specific amount of weight. Compression deals with the compressibility of the filling material under a certain weight for a set amount of time. Recovery is the value at which a material rebounds after a set amount of time after compression. These tests are for ANY loose-fill materials (down or synthetics). How is it done? 1. Samples are conditioned and placed in a climate-controlled room for a set period. 2. Normal fill power is performed according to IDFB 10-B. 3. Samples are compressed for a set amount of time to obtain the compression value. 4. Samples are allowed to recover for a set amount of time to obtain the recovery value.   Why is it important for you and your clients? Compression and Recovery provide a benchmark for the compressibility and durability of filling materials. This is especially useful in choosing materials for finished products - To ensure and prove quality to your clients. Find out more by visiting our website and sending your sample in to be tested today! https://lnkd.in/g4iteSKu #IDFL #polyester #testing #test #analysis #quality #compression #recovery #content #assurance

For generations, Indigenous Peoples have been guardians of nature, stewards of the land. So many of fashion’s raw materials come from the land. In many cases, land that traditionally belongs to Indigenous Peoples. And the production of these raw materials – such as cotton, wool, mohair, leather, and viscose – has a profound impact on both local communities and ecosystems. And yet, of the 252 companies that reported on biodiversity in the Textile Exchange 2022 Materials Benchmark, only 5% said they are consulting with Indigenous leaders and communities. This needs to change. Today is UN International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, and this year’s theme is Indigenous Youth as Agents of Change for Self-determination. Now is the time to recognize and respect the enormous contribution of Indigenous Peoples towards the protection of biodiversity on earth. A “just transition” means companies not only listening to Indigenous communities, but actively working together and providing the support they need. If we are to create a global production system that protects, restores, and regenerates local ecosystems, Indigenous Peoples – especially Indigenous youth – must play a key decision-making role. #IndigenousYouth #textileexchange #climateaction
