President & CEO of Idaho Power and IDACORP

Earlier this summer, a few of us from Idaho Power had the opportunity to meet with Forest Service Chief Randy Moore and his leadership team here in Idaho. We discussed the role Idaho Power is playing as a member of the Southwest Idaho All-Lands Partnership, a group of federal, state, county, private, and nonprofit partners working toward the common goal of reducing catastrophic wildfire and keeping our communities safe. Fire doesn’t care about land ownership boundaries or jurisdictions. It's going to take all of us working together at a landscape level to tackle the wildfire crisis. I’m thankful for the engagement of our partners who are doing just that, and for our strong relationship with the Forest Service and others who are working to protect our communities and natural resources. You can learn more about the Southwest Idaho All-Lands Partnership in this recent article in T&D World: https://lnkd.in/gYWegDGG

Idaho Power is proud to support local dairy farms and manufacturers with safe, reliable, affordable energy—just like our customer Commercial Creamery Company!     To help their business run smoothly and more efficiently, they participated in our Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency program. Their participation in the program saves over 197,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) a year, which is enough to power approximately 17 homes in our service area for one year! Thank you, Commercial Creamery and Campbell Technical Services, for your efforts to be energy efficient! Learn how you can save at idahopower.com/business.

Eighteen years of investment in the Boardman to Hemingway transmission line have given Idaho Power an asset few western utilities can claim: A 500-kilovolt interregional transmission line that’s close to breaking ground. We’ll use B2H to import reliable, affordable, clean energy to meet our customers’ surging demand. Utilities around the country need more of these projects, and they need a faster permitting process. Idaho Power COO Adam Richins recently joined CNBC's Squawk Box to talk about B2H and the challenges of siting large transmission projects.
