Not all funding is created equal! For founders looking to retain intellectual property, gain access to advanced technical experts, and receive non-dilutive research and development support, NASA’s SBIR Ignite program is a great opportunity. Astrobotic received a Phase 1 NASA SBIR Ignite award in 2023 and were able to further develop a photon counting sensor for in-space detection of millimeter-scale debris. Andrew Horchler chief research scientist at Astrobotic shares that while many early-stage proposals lean heavily on technical capabilities and solutions, the NASA SBIR Ignite Program emphasizes a more balanced approach, with a significant focus on telling a compelling commercial story. And, he notes the importance of the program’s friendly IP terms. Apply today! Submissions for NASA SBIR Ignite are open until July 30: https://lnkd.in/ge2X__vp.
