Dana Settle, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Greycroft, was onstage last week at the Milken Institute’s Global Conference, where, it’s no surprise, AI dominated the conversation. We’re excited to announce RAG 2.0, our end-to-end system for developing production-grade AI. Using RAG 2.0, we’ve created Contextual Language Models (CLMs), which achieve state-of-the-art performance on a variety of industry benchmarks. CLMs outperform strong RAG baselines built using GPT-4 and top open-source models like Mixtral, according to our research and customers. On axes critical for enterprise work, such as open-domain question answering, faithfulness, and freshness, CLMs significantly improve performance over current systems. CLMs achieve even bigger gains over current approaches when applied to real world data, as we have seen with our early customers in domains such as finance and engineering. Introducing our latest investment, Reken, which is building a new type of AI platform and products to protect against generative AI threats. Reken's mission strongly aligns with our core focus on partnering with companies responsibly leveraging the power of artificial intelligence.   Today, Reken co-founders Shuman Ghosemajumder and Rich Griffiths announce the successful closing of a $10 million seed round led by Greycroft. While at Google, Shape Security, and F5, Shuman and Rich built large-scale AI platforms to defend against sophisticated attacks for some of the world's largest companies. We believe these experiences uniquely position them to build an important company that will help tackle the evolving and increasing challenges presented by generative AI threats.   Safeguarding against generative AI threats is essential for the future of the internet and requires a fundamentally new platform and approach. That's why we are so excited to join the Reken board and embark on the Reken journey with Shuman and Rich alongside FPV Ventures, Firebolt Ventures, Fika Ventures, Omega Venture Partners, Homebrew, and JAZZ Venture Partners.
