Remote work is here to stay and will only become more popular. Facts about remote work: 👍 98% of employees prefer working remotely at least part-time. 🏠 34% of workers want to work from home full-time. 📈 66% of managers report increased productivity from remote work. 😌 Remote workers experience less burnout (36%), reduced anxiety and depression (34%), and improved mental health (33%). 💰 Organizations save an average of $11,000 per year for each remote employee. (Using Magic saves $30,000 per year.) 🚗 Remote workers save an average of $6,000 annually from reduced commuting and related expenses. At Magic, we're insanely bullish about remote work. We embraced remote work years before COVID-19. We help companies grow their remote teams with remote executive assistants and assist traditional companies in integrating remote staff for the first time.

When delegating work to someone—whether it’s a coworker, contractor, your personal assistant from Magic, or AI like ChatGPT or Claude—your first message isn’t that important. Just state what needs to be done, like “find 10 podcasts on business,” to get started. A “one-shot” approach rarely succeeds, even with carefully constructed instructions, so don’t overthink the initial message. Missing information is expected, and that’s okay. Good delegation comes from iteration and conversation. Have a back-and-forth discussion and make adjustments until everyone is on the same page and all details are hashed out. A messy 10-message conversation will yield better results than a single, polished first message alone.
