Fountains Forestry hosted Advancing Georgia's Leaders in Agriculture and Forestry for an educational tour of Barracks Forest, an 11,000 acre privately owned forest we manage in the Scottish Highlands. Forest Manager Matthew Trewin provided valuable insights into forestry practices in Scotland and showcased Scotland's main variety of timber, the Sitka spruce, to the AGL class.

Fountains Forestry team members took on the National Three Peaks Challenge this month to raise money for Cancer Research UK (CRUK). The challenge involved climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England, and Wales. Our team completed this feat over the course of one weekend, walking 23 miles and climbing 10,052 feet in total. Our team's goal was to raise £2,000, and they surpassed that with over £5,000 in donations. We are incredibly proud of these team members who couldn't be stopped even in the cold and snow to raise money for the life-saving work done by Cancer Research UK. 🏔 👏

As part of the International Sustainable Forestry Coalition (ISFC), our President, Marshall Thomas, attended UNFF19 in New York. ISFC was honored to host the Director of the UNFF Secretariat, KOUDENOUKPO BIAO JULIETTE, PhD, MSc, Engr. for a discussion regarding accelerating the forestry sector’s potential to turbocharge the sustainability transition through Nature-Based Solutions. Collaborating with other leaders in our industry is vital, and F&W is proud to be part of ISFC! 

Our Fountains Forestry team honored John Adams, our friend and long-standing colleague who passed away. The team planted a mixture of trees with a memorial plaque in one of the local woodlands to celebrate his dedication.

Congratulations to our Forest Mapping Group Manager, Dwight Sheppard, GISP, for graduating from the Advancing Georgia's Leaders in Agriculture & Forestry program. This rigorous two-year leadership program aims to educate, empower, and connect professionals working in agriculture, forestry, natural resources, and allied sectors to become dynamic industry leaders. We are excited to see what this awesome group of professionals will do in the future! 🌲🎉

Congratulations to our Chief Business Officer, Jody Strickland, who received the 2024 AGL Legacy of Leadership Alumni Award. Advancing Georgia's Leaders in Agriculture and Forestry (AGL) educates, empowers, and connects today's professionals in agriculture, forestry, natural resources, and allied sectors to be dynamic industry leaders. Jody graduated from the 1994 AGL class. Over her 30-year career, she has embodied the role of a servant leader, providing guidance, resources, and connections to several forestry and agricultural organizations.

F&W Forges Equity Partnership With Everwood & Expands U.S. Operations We are excited to announce that Everwood, an integrated player in the European forest management sector based in France, has invested in our company. With this partnership, we are also announcing a major geographic expansion of our U.S. operations into the Inland Empire region with the acquisition of Idaho-based Inland Forest Management. Our goal is to expand the role of the forestry sector in the transition to a sustainable society.
