Giving and supporting our communities has long been a central part of our culture. As we celebrate our 80th anniversary, we recognize we’ve been fortunate to attract employees who care about others and the world around them. Shown here in the 1970s, our employees participated in a variety of community-related activities, including collecting donations for hurricane victims, sponsoring local youth activities, and hosting food drives to combat hunger. Last year, our employees logged more than 60,000 hours of community involvement to champion many meaningful causes. We are proud to have employees who share our values, help us make a positive impact in the areas we serve, and whose compassion and generosity demonstrate that we are more than an insurance company. #FLBlue80 #FlashbackFriday

In the 1960s, word continued to spread about our products and services and our ability to take care of Floridians’ health care needs. As a result, our member enrollment grew to one million. In this photo taken in 1965, we celebrated our millionth member, Loy Crumbley. We’re commemorating our 80th anniversary this year. Our customers are still at the center of everything we do and helping them stay healthy has been our goal since 1944. That’s why we work to lower costs, make benefits easy to access, and provide a range of health services that include traditional medical care, preventive care, and so much more. Today, more than 5.9 million members rely on us to be there for them throughout their health and well-being journey. In 1976, this bicentennial emblem was placed on our entrance doors in Jacksonville in celebration of 200 years of America's independence. While much has changed since then, Florida Blue’s mission to help people and communities achieve better health has not. As we celebrate our 80th Anniversary, we took a look back at some of our first offices. We experienced significant growth in the 1940s and 1950s, which required us to build a bigger home office in Jacksonville. As demand for our products and services continued to grow, we expanded to other parts of the state, including Panama City. Today, we have a 119-acre campus headquarters in Jacksonville, nine additional office locations throughout the state, and 39 Florida Blue Centers to better serve our communities. And can you guess which insurer is the only one to offer products and services in all 67 Florida counties? We are Florida, for Florida, and by Florida. Our local roots and deep footprint across the state have allowed us to be there for our neighbors—when and where they need us. #FLBlue80 #FlashbackFriday
