Huge shout-out to Mike Wilson and Five Star Credit Union for hosting a delicious cookout for our Sanders 1 residents!

Our second year honoring our high school graduates in Alabama and Georgia. Each gets $50 when they open an account. Education is a cornerstone of what we do at Five Star. This is another step to helping our graduates get an account, learn to manage it, and get a jumpstart on saving for the next chapter. We love to brighten their futures!

Throughout the year, Five Star has potlucks, cookouts, and food trucks. It's a nice way to reward staff. Our annual Memorial Day cookout was a huge success. All you can eat hamburgers, hotdogs, and ice cream sandwiches. It's small details that brighten days and futures. Have a safe weekend.

Five Star does a great job of impacting its communities. At our annual employee training day, we raised money for the House of Hope in Camilla, GA.  The House of Hope provides emergency transitional housing, counseling and life skills training to individuals in need. Their CEO was so appreciative that he brought some gifts to financial center staff. He said the money we raised went directly to help a young mother with three children who came to the center in need of housing. We are proud to be able to partner with local organizations to brighten the communities we serve. #creditunions #credituniondifference #givingback

We love being able to partner with the Dothan Leisure Services after school program to teach these students how to make smart financial decisions. They all went home with a Five Star piggy bank to help them get started on their path to a bright financial future.

Last week, Five Star held its annual employee training day called Elevate 24. All Five Star staff came together at the UGA Tifton Conference Center to discuss how Five Star continues to brighten the financial future of our members. It is a time to celebrate each other as well. Five Star partnered with The JOY FM Alabama to honor two families with free rent or mortgage for a year. Sadie and Tangela were the recipients for 2024. Each has been selfless with their families and gone above and beyond to provide for their extended families. They were nominated during a year long promotion with JOY FM. We are thankful we are able to brighten their future and provide an area of relief for them in 2024. #creditunions #credituniondifference #givingback

We celebrated our employees with milestone anniversaries last week. The group spanned from five years to 35 years. Without their commitment to our members, Five Star would not be what it is today. We officially cut the ribbon at our new Lincolnshire financial center in Dothan, AL this week with the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce. We were also joined by State Senator Donnie Chesteen and State Representative Steve Clouse. Five Star now has six financial centers in Houston County.
