We are very excited to announce that evroc has been selected a 2024 Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum. We look forward to engaging with private and public sector leaders to define the agenda for some of our generation’s most critical topics including the clean energy transition, improving productivity by leveraging cloud and AI technologies and bridging the digital divide. This is the second time for our Founder and CEO Mattias Åström to be honored by the World Economic Forum. Back in 2015, his previous company Eta Devices (now part of Nokia) was also selected a Technology Pioneer. Yesterday, evroc Founder Mattias Åström presented our plans for a sovereign European hyperscale cloud to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson. Europe desperately needs its own sustainable infrastructure for cloud and AI and the evroc team is making it happen. Thanks to our rock star investors at Norrsken VC for inviting us to Norrsken House in Stockholm for the event. Sofia Lindelöw Niklas Adalberth Tove Larsson Agnes Svensson Luke Richardson

On Saturday, President Joe Biden signed a bill that reauthorizes Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). What this means in practice is that the US Senate has given US intelligence services a renewed mandate to continue to collect foreign intelligence information about non-US citizens located outside the United States (i.e. most of the world's population). National security adviser Jake Sullivan has called the program “one of the United States’ most vital intelligence collection tools.” It is important to note that this intelligence work takes place without the consent of the foreign governments whose citizens come under surveillance - the euphemism used for what is in fact espionage. This intelligence work often violates the laws in the territories where the surveillance takes place - e.g. GDPR in the European Union as those subject to surveillance are not asked to consent to their data being collected, stored and analyzed. If you use common Internet services and applications hosted by the American cloud hyperscalers (i.e. most of the Internet), your data and your privacy is at risk. It is as simple at that. And the same goes for proprietary corporate information as various leaks have shown that US surveillance has been used for industrial espionage against European allies. At evroc, we believe in European sovereignty, data privacy and building a sustainable future for Europe where our laws govern what data can be collected.

Yesterday, evroc's Founder & CEO Mattias Åström had the great pleasure of meeting with President Emmanuel Macron of France during the State Visit to Sweden. We are very grateful for all of the support that we have received from Ambassade de France en Suède, Business France Nordics and FONDATION SOPHIA ANTIPOLIS to help us establish our software development center in France and as part of planning for investment in a future hyperscale data center in France. At evroc, we share President Macron's drive for a strong and vibrant Europe with sovereignty across key areas including defense, energy, semiconductors, cloud services and AI. As President Macron pointed out, Europe has unfortunately fallen behind the US and China/Asia, a fact that threatens the vibrancy of our economy. There is an urgent need to deregulate, remove red tape and invest massively to create European champions that bring back technology leadership to Europe and power our economy including creating high-value jobs. At evroc, we are doing our part to build Europe's first sovereign hyperscale cloud and critical AI infrastructure.

The back-bone of Europe’s digital economy is either built on a foreign foundation, or built on outdated technology. A competitive European hyperscale cloud is critical to keep investments, job creation, technology development and intellectual property rights within its borders. Relying on legacy centers to process your data is like leaving the fridge open and expecting your groceries will be safe to eat. While legacy data centers may work, they consume massive amounts of energy and are lagging behind in terms of cybersecurity. It’s time to phase them out. Find out more on www.evroc.com #cloud
