It’s Monday, which means it’s time to spotlight another one of our summer interns! This week we’re getting to know Max Matheus! Max is a Computer Science major at Appalachian State University and is spending this summer interning with our GIS and water resources groups in Raleigh, NC. Max has always enjoyed technology and learning how things work and found computer science to be the perfect blend of his interests. Jumping right in at ESP, Max has been busy learning about data collection and storage, as well as web app development. He’s also been working closely with our GIS team, learning how to use ArcGIS and additional software to map rivers and streams across the state. We’re so excited to have Max on the ESP team this summer and look forward to seeing all he will accomplish during his internship! #appdevelopment #internship #mentoring

Last week our Fort Mill office celebrated its 3rd Annual ESP Spirit Week! We’re kicking off July with another summer intern spotlight! This week, we’re getting to know Patrick McNealy! Patrick is an Environmental Engineering major at Texas A&M University and is spending the summer interning with our surveying group in San Antonio, TX. Pursuing a career in engineering, Patrick is excited to gain a greater understanding of what surveyors do in support of the overall project process. Patrick has been enjoying his internship, especially getting out into the field and surveying different locations. So far, his favorites have been surveying near the Alamo and going to Conroe, TX. Patrick also enjoys seeing how the data he collects in the field is processed and put into the programs they use in the office. We’re excited to have Patrick on the ESP team this summer and look forward to hearing about all he will accomplish during his internship! #surveying #internship #mentoring

It’s time to spotlight another one of ESP’s summer interns! This week, we’re getting to know Dorothy Augenbraun! Dorothy is a Civil Engineering major at Clemson University and is spending this summer interning with our civil engineering group in Fort Mill, SC. Dorothy’s broad range of interests in architecture, building design, math, and physics made civil engineering the perfect middle ground. Dorothy has been loving her internship so far, especially getting to work with a team of experienced civil engineers. She has been busy learning new software and applying those skills to the projects she’s working on. Dorothy is looking forward to gaining more experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and learning more about civil engineering from an industry perspective.
