Our major highlights include: ⚡Informing more than 10 federal initiatives, including the creation of the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) 🗣Testifying at more than 10 congressional hearings. 📃Conducting more than 50 issue briefings for members of Congress on a variety of decarbonization pathways. 📰Penning more than 30 opinion pieces published in major media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe Media, POLITICO, and The Economist. 🎥Seeing our CEO Ernest J. Join me for a virtual event next week on a new EFI Foundation study about how environmental justice groups view the development of #cleanhydrogen in the United States. https://lnkd.in/gMF5nVdP   We will be hearing the perspectives of Smith Eleanor (Tó Nizhóní Ání), Stephanie Malin (Center for Environmental Justice at CSU), Marcel Akhame (Breakthrough Energy ), Madeline Gottlieb Schomburg (EFI Foundation), and Beth Dowdy (EFI Foundation). The discussion will focus on a new EFI Foundation study that dives deeper into how environmental justice groups perceive #hydrogen through a survey and study of signed public letters. This study is a follow up to our “Factbook for H2Hub Stakeholders: Building Stronger Community Engagement in Hydrogen Hubs” and helps to further inform honest and meaningful community engagement in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Regional Clean Hydrogen Hubs (#H2Hubs) program.

The new rule from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission mirrors three major conclusions from analysis from our Energy Futures Finance Forum on planning and financing new grid transmission capacity. https://lnkd.in/et26gwZZ The best practices identified in our analysis, and that are included in FERC’s new rule, enable transmission planners to move away from a mode characterized by crisis management and reactive “whack-a-mole" investments and toward an approach that prioritizes a pragmatic, orderly buildout of the grid to meet future needs. #electricty #transmission #grid #FERC
