We had an amazing time at the Touch-A-Truck event in Van Buren, Arkansas! It was a fantastic opportunity for kids to explore all the vehicles and equipment. Our U.S. Land Transport team brought one of our trucks, and it was a big hit with the kids, especially the horn. One of the greatest rewards in our industry is the satisfaction that comes from contributing to the communities we serve and seeing our work benefit others. OneMed and DB SCHENKER have teamed up to win a major new contract for the transport of medical consumables to twenty municipalities across Oslo and Telemark, Norway. The 6-year agreement, valued at up to NOK 2.2 billion for OneMed, prioritizes sustainability with emission-free transport and distribution as a key requirement. The focus on sustainability goes beyond “last mile” deliveries. OneMed and DB SCHENKER are working together to reduce emissions throughout the entire supply chain, including longer distances between cities. This will involve fossil-free transport between OneMed’s Norway warehouse at Gardermoen and the DB SCHENKER terminal at Alnabru, as well as exploring sustainable options for transporting goods from Sweden. We are cleaning up our plastic footprint! In compliance to the DENR Extended Producer Responsibility Act, DB SCHENKER Philippines partnered with PCX to recover and divert 20% of our plastic footprint for 2023. We are proud to be at the forefront in ensuring that we take steps to adhere to this regulation, emphasizing our commitment to take care of our environment and community. This program evaluated the actual plastic generated by the nature of our businesses, as duly checked by a third-party auditor. As an organization, we have reevaluated our plastic consumption and are implementing the use of more recycled materials. We have initiated projects to help reduce plastic pollution, working with the local communities where we have footprint. We have also supported our clients in ensuring that they meet their own #sustainability goals.
