    Meet our featured employee for July, Daniel Moeller! What do you enjoy most about your role with CuraLinc? I enjoy playing a part in assuring employees and employers across the country have access to high quality mental health solutions. Working with different companies and an amazing team is a nice bonus as well! What are you most excited to achieve this year personally and professionally? Currently being in a newer lead role, I am excited to continue developing this position, and developing my skills around it to better assist my team in their relationships with clients. How do you define success?  Success to me is giving over 100% effort into a goal and being able to see the impact of that work pay off. Seeing the result is satisfying, but its about the journey to get there too! What do you enjoy doing in your free time? I am a big fan of movies and going for long walks. You might find me at the movie theatre or on the lakefront trail walking around in my free time! I also enjoy learning new things and have started learning Mandarin Chinese. What is a fun fact about yourself you don’t mind sharing?  Last year I challenged myself having never ran much more than a few miles, so I trained for 6 months, and ran 2 half marathons (which basically means I ran a full marathon right?)

    CuraLinc is excited to announce several promotions from within our operations team, effective July 1, 2024! Vanessa Loera, M.A. has been promoted to Mental Health Coach. As a natural artist, she is curious, open-minded, and always brings a kind warmth to her conversations with individuals. A forever student of mental health and someone who loves to share knowledge with anyone who’s ready to listen and learn. Her creative, collaborative, and inquisitive personality makes her a great addition to the coaching team. Cheryl Carpenter, LMHC, NCC has been promoted to Mental Health Coach. Cheryl is thoughtful and passionate in the way she engages all our members. She is reliably sweet, kind, and courageous; always compassionate, caring, and clever. She is not only conscientious, but careful in the way she validates and supports anyone she meets and has the pleasure of speaking with. Gabrielle Littrean has been promoted to Mental Health Coach. She is always welcoming in the way she works with people, as she is a strong, secure teacher of all thing’s mental health. She is also creative and conscientious as she consistently leverages a warmth and kindness. Her inviting attitude to even the most stressful topics puts others at ease, making her a coach people would love to work with.     July is National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month – a time to acknowledge and work to dismantle mental health disparities and stigmas within BIPOC communities. Common roadblocks to mental health care may include: 🚧 Implicit bias and discrimination within the healthcare system 🚧 SDoH factors that limit awareness of and access to care options 🚧 Generational stigmas that overshadow the importance of mental health support While dismantling roadblocks to care is a heavy lift, employers can help team members overcome these hurdles with a proactive approach to workforce mental health. This looks like: ✅ Open discussions about mental health in the workplace and available support resources ✅ A mental health program that offers culturally competent care and caters to the unique needs of each individual ✅ Proactive outreach to employees experiencing hardships ✅ Training for managers to equip them with knowledge and tools to address mental health concerns Together, we can raise awareness and break down the stigmas surrounding mental health care for all.     Hearing relatable stories from peers on social media can help reduce the stigma around mental health challenges and offer a sense of community. However, there is a significant risk of misinformation, inaccurate self-diagnosis and a false sense of support. In addition, algorithms and trending topics can lead to an echo chamber – a never-ending stream of mental health posts reinforcing similar ideas and perhaps leading to even more distress and misinformed self-diagnosis. 🤳 People of all ages need to seek individualized care from an expert who can offer assessment, diagnosis and an appropriate care plan. An employer-provided EAP is a great avenue for immediate and no-cost mental health care – without relying on the TikTok algorithm.
