Ernie Suggs began his journey at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (part of the Cox family of businesses) in 1997 as a nighttime cops reporter. During his impressive career, he’s covered a range of stories and is best known for his work on race issues and Black Atlanta, covering civil rights icons like Coretta Scott King, John Lewis and Andrew Young. In 2023, Ernie embarked on a new adventure: writing a producing the first film for AJC Films, publication’s production arm. “I am very proud of the work we did on “The South Got Something to Say,” a full-length documentary on the history of hip-hop in the city,” Ernie said. “The film has been invited to festivals and won several awards, but I am most proud of the fact that we did it and were trusted enough to create this.” Tap here to see more work stories and explore the power of connection: https://bit.ly/48cpctA
