About us

Established in 2022, COSSBA is a non-profit 501c3 organization proudly rooted in North Carolina. We are dedicated to the formation, service, and empowerment of a national network of state school boards across the United States, with an unwavering commitment to facilitating excellent and equitable public education in local communities. Our core purpose centers around providing high-quality training and support to public school board leaders. We believe that effective leadership is key to the advancement of our educational system, and we strive to equip these leaders with the necessary tools and knowledge to make a significant impact. Guided by our principles of transparency, efficacy, relevancy, and accountability, we aim to foster an environment of trust and collaboration. We understand the importance of open communication and practical solutions in achieving our goals, and we remain accountable for our actions and decisions. Our mission is to strengthen state school board associations through resource sharing and information exchange. We believe in the power of collective wisdom and collaborative action, and we work tirelessly to create a strong and supportive alliance. COSSBA's vision is to build trust and confidence in public school governance, ultimately leading to the success of every student.
