Concordance offers an integrated, holistic, and evidence-informed re-entry model to lower reincarceration rates.

About us

Concordance reduces reincarceration rates through a holistic, integrated, and evidence-informed model that includes 12 essential services under one roof, including personalized support across substance use and mental health treatment, education, job readiness, employment, housing and legal services, and more. The nonprofit starts working with individuals six months prior to release and continues assisting for up to a year after their return to the community. Led by President and CEO Danny Ludeman, Concordance has been able to lower the reincarceration rates among its participants by more than 40 percent. The organization is committed to healing participants’ trauma, restoring individuals, reuniting families, transforming communities, and advancing the field of re-entry services.

Today, Concordance honors our team members and participants who have served our country. Did you know that veterans make up nearly 8% of the state prison population across the US? We regularly welcome and care for former service members who have been incarcerated. Through our care team and holistic reentry model, we are able to treat PTSD or other mental health disorders so that all of our participants -- veterans included -- can be empowered to live abundant and purposeful lives. Happy Veterans Day to all!

Presenting our 2023 graduates! Last month, family and friends joined Concordance team members to recognize participants who have completed our reentry program. We are so proud of these men and woman, who have spent 18 months fully committed to their healing journey and their future. Please join us in congratulating them on this incredible feat! Recited at the end of every afternoon circle -- “Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose!” On any given day at Concordance, you’ll frequently hear the word “circle” in conversations. Circle is a safe space and an opportunity for participants to sit with one another, reflect on the day, and motivate one another for the journey ahead. It is also a time to celebrate peer accomplishments such as completing educational training, obtaining a driver’s license or being awarded for pro-social behavior.

Last month our team members came together for an all-day planning session at Winfield Manor, the facility Emerson donated to Concordance earlier this year. Winfield Manor serves as Concordance’s expanded residential substance use and mental health treatment facility, as well as national training center for our team members. As Concordance accelerates its national expansion efforts, we are committed to refining existing processes, improving quality, and ensuring our participants have a consistent experience! The day’s dialogue was robust and encouraging – showing just how dedicated our team is to reducing reincarceration and helping our participants live joyful, abundant, and purposeful lives.

#RecoveryMonth #RecoveryDuringReentry When she was 11 years old, Sasha’s struggle with anxiety, depression and substance use began – as a result of living with a mother with undiagnosed mental health and substance use issues. Over the past 20 years, Sasha has faced seasons of prostitution, domestic abuse, crime, incarceration, and most devastatingly, being disconnected from her four children. But today, Sasha shows up daily at our St. Louis Center to receive treatment, case management, job training and other resources for the journey ahead. She is focused on her post-release recovery and her transformation into the woman and mother she always knew she could be. Please join us in saluting Sasha and all Concordance participants who are courageously overcoming obstacles while in active recovery.
