Thank you to the many partners who came together for the first Hannah Penn Community Event, a collaboration between CPC's Community of Hope and the Family First Health Hannah Penn Health Center. Participants rotated through five different stations on specific topics, staffed by CPC's Health and Nutrition, WIC, and Community Outreach teams, Penn State Nutrition Links, and Family First Health. Each family also received a giveaway bag and York Fresh Food Farms Community Bucks. Building relationships with families in the neighborhood surrounding Community Progress Council is a key part of our work to provide the resources and support for families on their journey out of poverty and toward self-sufficiency. We look forward to seeing everyone in July!

Did you know June is National #Homeownership Month? Last year, we helped 330 people at all income levels connect with housing education workshops or one-on-one counseling to help them prepare for homeownership: Creating a spending plan, raising their credit score, and navigate the complex process of purchasing a home. If homeownership is your goal, take a look at upcoming workshops and reach out to get connected. https://lnkd.in/gEk8Zx4r

As the early learning field is experiencing a workforce crisis, Community Progress Council leadership recognized the need to build a workforce pipeline from the ground up, support economic mobility and self-sufficiency, and to remove barriers to increased earnings. With a mission deeply rooted in fostering self-sufficiency, CPC's Teacher Training Program is a bold example of innovation at work. By providing meaningful employment, workforce development, and ongoing training, we work to address immediate staffing shortages but also lay the groundwork for a sustainable early childhood education (ECE) workforce in York County. Now with generous support from Every Child Has Opportunities (ECHO), Community Progress Council is now able realize several opportunities for growth — and to serve as a model to establish an ECE apprenticeship program elsewhere in the County. Thanks to York County Economic Alliance and Community Connections for Children for your partnership in this work! https://lnkd.in/gFWYHVis

As we celebrate Homeownership Month in June, we're proud to spotlight our Housing Education and Financial Counseling support that helps families make informed housing decisions and choices that are right for them. Christine first found support through our coaching and Emergency Rental Assistance programs. With guidance from our Housing Counselors, she was able to raise her credit score by more than 100 points! From there, the Pathway to Homeownership workshops paved the path forward for her ultimate dream. Hear her story, and check out upcoming workshops at https://lnkd.in/g3CH2R4b.
