Recruiting Tip - The Interview So you’ve found a good candidate for a truck driver, but what do you ask them? Ask the driver where they’ve driven. What types of routes and freight they want. Ask about their experience with types of equipment. Be specific. Don’t worry about cheesy interview tricks and traps like “What’s your greatest strength?”

Recruiting Tip - Know Your Regions. Do you know where your trucks are going? Do you know what states you most frequently require freight to visit? The highway conditions, the weather, and the driving all change depending on which regions you require the driver to go. Truck drivers will want to know upfront where you plan on sending them. Understanding each region and the potential issues around various regions will help you understand the driver better.
