From the Desk of Mayor Austin Bishop: I’m excited to report that our advocacy work in Washington, DC this week has made significant strides toward securing improvements for Ave. P (Rancho Vista Blvd.) and Ave. M surrounding Plant 42. We’ve laid the groundwork for millions in potential federal funding to tackle congestion and safety as Palmdale continues to grow. During our visit to DC, we attended the National League of Cities Conference and met with legislators on both sides of the aisle. Mental health and fentanyl awareness were hot topics discussed as part of a new caucus attended by Mayor Pro Tem Richard Loa that Senator Laphonza Butler and Senator Alex Padilla established. Councilmember Laura Bettencourt attended a military council commission meeting that provided information about programs, grants and initiatives being made available to our veterans. We have gained valuable tools and connections that will help us build a stronger City. Palmdale’s future is bright! 💡
