New Business Alert! Aim for excellence, one shot at a time at The Champion Snooker Club, located at 1395 Galindo Street. Snooker is a cue sport, similar to billiards and pool, played on a larger table with 22 balls.     The Champion Snooker Club is the only location to play Snooker within an hour drive, offering ten tables for enthusiasts to perfect their shot and beginners to learn a new game. They are open Sunday to Wednesday from 3:00 pm to midnight, and Thursday to Saturday from 3:00 pm to 1:00 am.     Stop by their grand opening celebration this Saturday, July 20th, starting at 7:00 pm to welcome The Champion Snooker Club to Concord, play some games, and have fun!     Follow their social media accounts to stay up-to-date on future tournaments and events!

Last week, City officials and staff joined the Greater Concord CA Chamber of Commerce for a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of Beauty & Beyond, located at 2190 Meridian Park Boulevard, Suite C. Jazmine Simpson obtained her esthetician license from Concord's Paris Beauty College in 2019, and opened Beauty & Beyond at the beginning of 2020 in Brentwood offering beauty services such as facials, waxing, and makeup application. She quickly outgrew this space due to her loyal customer base and recently moved her business to Concord in a new 1,300 square foot space. The new salon features four rooms and created employment opportunities for other licensed estheticians to also provide beauty services. Jazmine is thrilled to bring her business to the same city where her career started. Last week, staff and council attended an open house to see the new Papé Material Handling building located at 1975 Arnold Industrial Way. Papé Material Handling offers top-of-the-line equipment such as fork lifts and aerial platforms, as well as in-house service for equipment. Papé was previously located at 210 Mason Circle in a 17,000 square foot building, and needed more space to service their customers. The new building is over 30,000 square feet featuring a sales lobby, warehouse, parts department and service bays to work on equipment. The higher ceilings and multiple entry points to the service bays allow for larger equipment, up to five tons, to be safely serviced indoors. The company also invested in touchscreen technology to provide an interactive learning environment for the team in the training rooms. Papé Materials Handling has been in business for 85 years and currently operate 150 locations across nine states with over 4,500 employees. The Concord location currently has 26 team members and will be adding more soon.
