City Garden Montessori School has an open call for new board members to apply! City Garden exists to redefine education by developing the whole child in an excellent, inclusive, Montessori school; to reimagine community by creating spaces and systems that help to restore our collective humanity; and to reinvigorate our world by creating a culture in which individuals and communities thrive without disparities or barriers to success. This is big and important work! City Garden board members are in a position to play a significant leadership role in this work on behalf of the school and its students. It is with great excitement that we announce Mrs. Markisha (Kisha) Young as City Garden Montessori School’s next Elementary and Adolescent Education Center (EAEC) principal, beginning July 1, 2024! The EAEC houses City Garden’s Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary and Junior High programs and will serve 415 1st through 8th grade students in the 2024-25 school year. . We had a competitive pool of candidates and conducted a rigorous hiring process that included students, guides, staff, parents and caregivers. We are grateful to each candidate who invested themselves in this process and expressed interest in serving City Garden–it was inspiring to meet such talented and passionate educators. .
