Have you been hearing a lot about Project 2025 this week? Well, so have we. In the past few weeks, the term “Project 2025” was being searched more than Taylor Swift or the NFL. So where do American voters stand on these policy proposals? According to our May 2024 survey, only 16% of Americans have heard of Project 2025. Yet, after reading a brief description of the project and some of its proposals, the majority of voters (59%) indicated they did not support any of Project 2025’s objectives. Additionally, half of Americans said Project 2025 decreases their trust in our democracy. If you’re interested in more data on this topic, sign up for our newsletter below for the latest insights on Americans’ attitudes toward Project 2025 and other democracy-related insights as we continue to track this over the coming months. https://lnkd.in/ejpySe2k

We've been so grateful for our partnership with Philanthropy for Active Civic Engagement (PACE) to conduct this impactful and timely research on civic language. Check out Meg Little Reilly latest piece in Forbes to learn more about this research and the lessons we can take away!
PACE's civic language research is in Forbes! Meg Little Reilly writes, "The hidden good news in this study is the suggestions that Americans are largely in agreement about some of those loftier aspirations — the greater ends of patriotism. Community was the third most popular word and it ranked as the most likely term to bring people together, with unityright behind it. It’s also encouraging that these words are likely to spur action in the electorate." Read the piece: https://lnkd.in/epUyyXcM

Where do Americans stand on primary reform? Our polling alongside one of our closest partners Unite America is clear: 🗣 A significant majority of voters believe they should be able to vote for any candidate in every election, while candidates should have to win a majority of votes to get elected. ❓ Yet, 70% of voters believe this is already true, even though neither is reality in a vast majority of states. Check out additional insights and solutions to these problems below:
Is Our Democracy at a Turning Point? 🗳️ By now, most Americans agree that politics is broken. The 2024 presidential election is proof of that, with many feeling disheartened by our likely two choices. The good news? The vast majority of us agree on the solutions. 📊 According to a 2023 Citizen Data Poll: • 91% of voters agree that all voters should be able to vote for any candidate in every taxpayer-funded election • 76% favor majority-winner elections 🤝 Highlights from a 2022 Unite America Poll: • 65% endorse nonpartisan primaries and majority-winner requirements •Democrats (71%), Republicans (56%), and Independents (68%) support those reforms 🌟These reforms could redefine our democracy for the better.
