A journey fueled by love. As an infant, all odds were against Dalton as he faced life-threatening hardships. He was adopted by his parents and has since thrived with their love and support. The family partnered with ChildServe and found a support system full of hope, joy, love, and endless opportunities for Dalton. A special thank you to our friends at Flynn Wright for helping capture Dalton's impactful story, which debuted at #BubbleBall yesterday. Mark your calendars for next year's event taking place on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Iowa Events Center. #GreatLife #TransformingLives #BubbleBallDSM #BubbleWrap Learn more about ChildServe Homes at https://lnkd.in/gZEPq6ft. Jaws dropped during Bubble Ball this spring as Jude filled every inch of Hy-Vee Hall with his incredible voice. For the second year in a row, Jude performed on stage at ChildServe's Bubble Ball in front of 1,400 guests! Since he was two years old, Jude has spent many hours in physical and occupational therapy to overcome the impact of cerebral palsy, which limits his range of movement, makes mobility difficult, and impacts his ability to hold his body upright for good breath support while singing. Jude’s determination to dream big has helped him perform with the Cedar Rapids Opera Chorus, take voice lessons at the University of Iowa and compete in regional and national competitions. “I wanted to participate in Bubble Ball to inspire disabled people and show them that they can do anything despite their disability,” Jude said. “I also wanted to show what can be accomplished with support from groups like ChildServe. My favorite parts of Bubble Ball were showcasing my talent to a great audience, and helping ChildServe achieve its goal of helping children with special healthcare needs.” Thank you for using your talents to help ChildServe share our mission, Jude! Sgt. Grandon from the Johnston Police Department brought his police car and lots of smiles to a recent visit to the ChildServe Developmental Center! 😁 🚓 Kids from the Developmental Center were able to hear directly from the source about what it’s like being a police officer and what their role is in our community. They had the chance to sit inside the police car, admire the flashing lights, and most importantly, proudly show off their new stickers! Thank you to Sgt. Grandon for taking the time to come out and answer all of our questions! #ChildServe #GreatLife #SummerAtChildServe Images: Kids interacting with Sgt. Grandon.

Sensory processing is a term you might have heard or read about, but what does it mean? For every child and family, sensory processing and sensory regulation can look different. ChildServe occupational therapists, Danielle Hubby and Katie McCabe, will present on what sensory processing is and how difficulties and differences in sensory regulation can impact children and young adults. They will present on common misconceptions about sensory regulation, what signs to look out for, and when to partner with healthcare professionals for extra support. To register and receive the Zoom link, please email learnwithus@childserve.org.
