Yesterday, June 28, City of Syracuse personnel and members of our community joined us to commemorate Ukraine’s Constitution Day. 🇺🇦 The adoption of the fundamental law of Ukraine on June 28, 1996, was a landmark event, following a nearly 300-year-long struggle for Ukrainian statehood. It was an honor to observe Constitution Day together.

🎓✨Proud moment at Catholic Charities! ⭐ 22 children graduated from our ParentChild + program last Friday. We celebrated their journey at Billy Beez in Destiny USA, surrounded by approximately 70 family members. “Two years of visits, twice a week, committed to developing a learning-rich home environment and preparing these little ones for school is a huge effort to be celebrated. We appreciate the parents in this program for the commitment they've made to their child's early learning development.” 🎉 Cheers to new friendships and endless fun for our little grads!

Catholic Charities is committed to being a constant in support of the family we are resettling who was visiting the home at the time of the explosion. We are visiting the family daily, working closely with them to assess and address their needs in the aftermath of the event. Additionally, we are in communication with Upstate to determine the coverage of the family's medical care. Catholic Charities exists to help all people in a crisis. We are extending our support to the resident family as well and will offer our assistance once we have the opportunity to speak with them directly about their needs – both immediate and long-term. In the meantime, we recognize the community's desire to support the families. Blessing Box Refugee Food Pantry will be accepting donations of food on Sunday, June 30 from 10 AM – 2 PM. They are located at CNY Uniform Plus at 664 Burnet Ave. in Syracuse. Meals for this week are covered. We also understand that many community members wish to provide financial assistance to the family. To facilitate this, we are collaborating with United Way of Central New York to establish an Emergency Assistance Fund. United Way is creating an online giving page to accept donations for emergency assistance. We will send a notification once this page is available, which is expected to be early next week. We are heartened to see Syracuse rallying around these families in their time of need, and we are proud to be part of such a caring and supportive community. ❤️ Thank you all.
