    LAUNCH

This is exciting news! The CAPS Network is offering a variety of experiences to their affliate programs. I'm thrilled to represent LAUNCH & the Elmbrook Schools in the professional develpment and training. As I enter the 9th year of LAUNCH, it will be an honor to share insights, perspectives, experiences, and learnings with others.

So we are doing a thing. (Yes, we do a lot of things.) This fall, for the first time, CAPS Network will offer a "level up" experience for existing affilate programs to turbocharge their efforts in the profession-based learning space. We will convene an inaugural cohort for the CAPS Navigator Circle. The CAPS Navigator Circle will provide educators with a series of value-add experiences, including enhanced training on the CAPS profession-based learning model, coaching and community building, select access to special events and passes to the CAPS Summer Huddle. There is a distinct level of excitement that comes with creating and launching something new into the world. I am overwhelmed with that nervous energy today. We cannot wait to see what comes of running this experiment! Special thanks to Sylvester Chisom of Global CTE Learning for assisting us in the ideation process. Nate Clayberg Alisa Morse

Deputy Chief of Staff at the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE)

Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to represent the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) at the CAPS Network's annual CAPS Huddle in Kansas City! #Huddle2024 It was truly inspiring to join other thought leaders in career-connected learning in meaningful conversation, listen to empowering student stories, and attend exciting sessions on topics like profession-based learning and AI in education. A big thanks to Corey Mohn, Alisa Morse, Nate Clayberg, Allison Koelzer Nelson and the rest of the CAPS team for organizing such a wonderful event. Excited about future collaborations ahead!

Empowering a network of educators and industry professionals in the pursuit of revolutionizing education for all learners

Ikigai: a Japanese phrase meaning “a passion that gives value and joy to life.” My passion: to empower communities and people to change the world. The Joy: my CAPS Network family at Summer Huddle. This week I witnessed the embodiment of my Ikigai. CAPS Network hosted our 2024 Summer Huddle and our theme was #believe. Wow! Never have I been surrounded by so many who deeply believe in our ability to change the world through innovative education. 300+ people showed up to the Bloch School’s Executive Hall in KC for 3 days of learning and collaboration. I’m still wrapping my head around the fact that this was our biggest event yet. My community showed up in inspiring ways this week. Corey Mohn, our Chief Cheerleader, gave us all permission to run the experiment and stay present. And then he lead by example. Nate Clayberg connected, coached and encouraged. His humor and dedication to our mission made each moment of Huddle better. Plus he helped lead Launchpad, my favorite addition to Summer Huddle! Allison Koelzer Nelson courageously navigated the ambiguity of her first Huddle. On top of that she proved how deep of an impact her passion for Pro-BL has on our community. Nicole Pizzato showed up with authenticity and a love for her community. Her ability to empathize with and articulate the realities of education welcomes our community into the innovative discussion. I am so thankful and incredibly lucky to work with these four people. My #Huddle24 experience was made better with meaningful connections to friends accross the country. Chris Denson brought an unmatched creative spirit and willingness to co-design. Bob Hall gave me new language to help make teaching Pro-BL more actionable. Johnny Wells reminded me that collaboration can only start when you intentionally show up. Ellie Lilly and Draden Vaughn demonstrated the powerful impact Pro-BL has on the educational experience. Stephanie (Short) Loeck generously shared her brilliant wisdom and helped me wrap up the incredible event. And to the hundreds of CAPS family I could tag in the post: thank you for making this Huddle an incredible success. Your input via workshops, collaboration, and friendship make my Ikigai come to life.
