Last week, I had the privilege of being one of the women sponsored by Campos EPC and Campos Women's Initiative Network (WIN) to attend the Energetic Women Conference in New Orleans, thank you to everyone we heard from and everyone who made this happen!   What an incredible opportunity to be among hundreds of women in the energy industry, to meet my absolutely wonderful coworkers (pictured here!) from all over the country, and to walk away bursting with ideas and action items to think about back at work this week. Bear with me as I share a few things I learned/relearned:   - Practice gratitude: happiness leads to success, not the other way around, and you’re in control of your attitude. Stacey Flowers - Identify your top 5; your cheerleaders, mentors, coaches, friends, and peers, and make emotional deposits to nurture those relationships. Julie Brown   - Recognize and know 3 traits that define you when you're at your best, and remind yourself of them when you're at your worst. (I think that at my best, I'm patient, confident, and joyful). - Use the three t's of trust: transparency, tact, and togetherness. In that order, think about the complaints you hear about toxic workplaces: unethical, disrespectful, non-inclusive. Justin Patton, CSP - Engage for conversation, not conversion.   - Remember that your truth may not be a fact. If you google "when could women vote?" it will tell you 1920, but black women couldn't vote until 1965. Dethra U. Giles   - Leaders have a duty to question/reframe the comments of their peers; is she emotional or is she passionate? Jason Reynolds   - Live life in awe of the diversity of human experiences, we don't know what people are going through, and kindness should be the default. April Lewis

We are thrilled to recognize Hope McLaughlin, a Mechanical Engineer from our Denver office, for her outstanding dedication and contributions to her work and clients. Campos EPC Engineering Manager Don Fennesy recently commended Hope for her exceptional performance on her presentation to an esteemed client. Reflecting on her experience, Hope shared: "Working on this project marked my first opportunity to engage in a project from the beginning of a project life cycle. She wisely said: "Many women have walked before us to make gender and competency uncorrelated in the workplace. Be confident in your abilities, communicate assertively, and remember that using periods in emails instead of exclamation points is okay.
