Updates

  • CLFP recently had the thrilling opportunity to visit one of our members, Torani, at their San Leandro facility! Torani is primarily known for their wide range of flavorful syrups, sauces, and fruit blends, used in coffee, tea, cocktails, and other beverages. We invited Assemblywoman Liz Ortega, Chair of the Assembly Labor & Employment Committee, to accompany Katie Little, our Director of Government Affairs, where they had the chance to meet with constituents, sample Torani's delicious products, and explore the manufacturing floor. The Chair and her team were able to connect with Torani and CLFP as we continue to engage on labor issues in her Committee, providing an invaluable experience benefiting legislative efforts and member relations. To all CLFP members: We encourage you to reach out to our Government Affairs team (Katie Little & Trudi Hughes, President) to arrange tours with local officials and showcase the benefits of your operations to the community. Huge thanks to Assemblywoman Ortega and her team for their time—we can't wait for the next visit! And special thanks to Torani for such an engaging, fascinating, and "sweet" tour! ✨☕🍹 https://lnkd.in/gWpvt95x

  • The Food Processing Expo returned to Sacramento on February 13 & 14 for another successful show! Almost 1,500 attendees walked the trade show floor to view the near 150 exhibitors who showcased their extensive products and services for the food processing industry. Numerous educational sessions were held on the trade show floor, covering topics such as environmental issues, Cal/OSHA updates, cyber security threats, newly restricted food additives, emission controls, energy efficiency, and more. The popular Kick-Off Breakfast and NCIFT Luncheon were both highly attended with keynote speakers, Jeff Butler (breakfast), and Professor Ruihong Zhang (luncheon). And of course, our attendees enjoyed exciting events such as happy hour on the trade show floor, free throw and Vegetable, Fruit and Nut Putting Contest, scholarship raffles, and the annual Supplier Host Council Reception. Thank you to all who participated in this annual event! To view the 2024 Expo Gallery, click the following link.
