Last month we took the opportunity to attend RemFest – Denver, hosted by Environmental Professional Industry Charities (EPIC). This was an excellent free full day event with technical talks from agencies, private consults, and subject matter experts, followed by afternoon networking activities. EPIC’s mission to strengthen the future of the environmental industry is an effort we proudly support and we look forward to sponsoring and attending their next event on July 25th in Phoenix! Visit https://epicenv.org/ to learn more.

Last Saturday, our Las Vegas office joined hundreds of fellow volunteers to help clean up the Spring Mountains (parent range of Mt. Charleston) and celebrate the 5th annual Green the Mountain litter awareness program. Over a million visitors rely on the Spring Mountains to escape the heat and noise of the Las Vegas valley each year and the Go Mt. Charleston team works diligently to manage the litter issue and help visitors dispose of their trash properly. Thank you to Go Mount Charleston and Southern Nevada Conservancy for organizing the event!

On Monday, we had the privilege of participating in the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Sacramento Post’s 2024 Annual Golf Tournament benefiting the Scholarship Fund. Since 2008, the Post has distributed approximately $530,000 in college scholarships to students pursuing degrees in STEM related fields. With a combination of skill, a few mulligans, and reduced strokes via donations along the way, our team proudly took first place! A big thank you to the event organizers for an incredible day and to Pace® Labs for inviting us to participate on their team.

Last Friday, we had the opportunity to attend and sponsor the Ray Taber Foundation’s Annual Free Drill Seminar presented in association with AEG and the UNR Civil and Environmental Engineering department. This drill class is a field seminar and educational event for undergraduate and graduate civil engineering and geology students to have a hands-on experience with field equipment and testing and logging protocols that have become fundamental to geo-science data gathering.

Cultural Resources trivia anyone?! Our archeologists spent their Saturday networking with Anthropology students at the Boas Bash hosted by the University of Nevada, Reno Anthropology department. This event offered students the opportunity to meet with industry professionals to connect and learn more about career paths in anthropology. We thought the trivia wheel was a fun way to test their knowledge and break the ice!

We've been having a blast participating in the Las Vegas Corporate Challenge since March! This annual event fosters teamwork, boosts company pride, and encourages corporate wellness. Whether it's dodgeball, track and field, softball, or chess, there's something for everyone. While our main goal is to stay active and celebrate teamwork, we definitely don’t mind snagging a first-place win now and then!
