While being outside offers many physical and mental health benefits, it also is important to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. According to the CDC, “you can work and play outside without raising your skin cancer risk by protecting your skin from the sun.” The CDC recommends following their guidelines for shade, clothing, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen to help mitigate the risks. During Pride Month, our Pride ERG (employee resource group) is participating in and promoting local Pride parades. In addition they are hosting our Fireside Chats this month to help us celebrate Pride and support the LGBTQ+ community. The PRIDE ERG’s purpose is to advance and promote workplace LGBTQ+ equity, safety, and inclusion through engaging and developing employees and playing an active role in community outreach and involvement. Here’s a picture of some of our Brighton Health Plan Solutions team members with their families at a local pride parade.

Juneteenth is a vital holiday! It commemorates Freedom Day or Emancipation Day in 1865 when the word of freedom reached enslaved people in Texas for the first time. It is often thought of as the official day slavery ended in the United States. Yesterday, here at Brighton we celebrated Juneteenth a day early with a fun Trivia session led by our Black Professionals Network ERG. The trivia was all about Black culture with questions ranging from TV to music and more. We had a blast celebrating this important holiday!

We partnered with Wellable to host these fun and informative sessions! We’re still feeling good about our Meditation Corner as well!
