Hey JDRF Northern Florida! Please help us welcome Samantha Carty to the team 🤩💙 Samantha will be serving as the development coordinator for the greater Jacksonville community. Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Samantha grew up in Jacksonville before moving to Tennessee in 2017 – and now we are so excited to have her back! She has been married to her husband, Micah, for almost 2 years now and they’re proud parents to a wonderful pup named Winnie! In her spare time, she loves to spend time outdoors, hang out with her family and friends, travel, play pickle ball, and cheer on the Nashville Predators hockey team. Samantha wanted to get involved with JDRF because she has been living with T1D for 19 years after being diagnosed the day after her 7th birthday. She grew up a JDRF kid with her mom working for JDRF and has always felt passionate about being a part of the work JDRF does to find a cure for people like her with T1D. “JDRF’s mission means a lot to me because of the community it brings to people with T1D,” says Samantha. “JDRF helps me realize I am not alone in this and I do have a community to lean on that understands the struggles of type one.” We are thrilled to have Samantha on the JDRF Northern Florida Chapter staff team and look forward to you having the opportunity to meet her soon!
