About us
Brave is on a mission to build a user-first Web. Starting with our core browser and search engine, Brave shields users from the creepy ads and trackers that follow you across the web. But we’re also changing the Web’s money model with a privacy-first digital ads platform that gives advertisers access to unreachable audiences; users earn crypto rewards for their attention; and creators unlock new revenue streams. Founded in 2015 by Brendan Eich, creator of JavaScript and co-founder of Mozilla (Firefox), and Brian Bondy, formerly of Khan Academy and Mozilla. Discover our products: Brave Browser: Fast, private browsing that blocks third-party ads and trackers by default. Brave Search: The world’s largest private search index, and the fastest growing independent search engine since Bing. Brave Ads: Unique cookie-less advertising in discreet ad units built right into the browser and search engine. Want to help build a better Web? Consider working with us!

"How will Manifest V3 affect Brave? Will it prevent the browser from blocking ads?" Google's Manifest V3 changes will restrict extensions that block ads and trackers. Brave's newest AI feature is Bring Your Own Model! BYOM, now live in Brave Nightly, lets you connect Brave's AI assistant Leo to your own local or remote AI models for added customization and privacy. You can use Ollama to run AI models like Llama 3 and Mistral 7B locally and analyze web pages, PDFs, and other docs in Brave without any data leaving your device. Learn how to set up Ollama and connect it to Leo here: https://lnkd.in/eTWfAb6k The BYOM feature also lets users connect Leo to remote models on their own servers, or ones run by third-parties like OpenAI’s ChatGPT. This gives users easy access to the models of their own choice. Details on setting up remote models are in the blog as well! This feature is now available through Brave Nightly on desktop. We plan to roll it out to all desktop users later this summer. If you're testing it on Nightly, please let us know what you think! #artificialintelligence #technews #llm
