Congratulations to our NICU team for receiving the spotLIGHT award by the American Academy of Pediatrics for their work in reducing the use of subthreshold phototherapy following childbirth. Through multi-disciplinary teamwork, Bozeman Health has been nationally recognized as a leader in these efforts. On June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas with the news that the more than 250,000 enslaved Black people in the state were free. This day came to be known as Juneteenth, an official federal holiday. Juneteenth is a day of reflection and celebration of African American culture and history. This day commemorates the end of slavery, and also emphasizes the ongoing struggle for civil rights and the importance of equality and freedom. Opening in 2025, Bozeman Health has begun construction of the adult inpatient behavioral health unit at Deaconess Regional Medical Center, delivering support to patients who need acute inpatient care in order to stay close to home and thus close to their local support systems. “It’s been an honor to witness Bozeman Health’s deep commitment to advancing mental health best practices in our community over the past couple of years,” shared Gallatin County Attorney Audrey Cromwell.
