What a spectacular celebration of the grand re-opening of Alexander Hyundai yesterday. Our CEO, Erin Antrim, along with a few of our members, had the privilege of accepting an incredibly generous $20,000 check for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme from Alexander Hyundai of Oxnard and Hyundai Motor America! We are SO grateful to our 2023-2024 sponsors who have helped us raise hundreds of thousands of dollars over the past year - all to ensure our youth have the best Boys & Girls Clubs experiences and opportunities. Thank you for making so much possible for them!

Our teens are learning just how good it feels to give back! Their first Kindness Kitchen Pop-Up was a huge success. Members from the Harriet H. Samuelsson Teen Center spent a couple weeks collecting non-perishable foods and drinks, then purchased or cooked items the day-of. The menu ended up consisting of enchiladas, pineapple fried rice, ceviche, fruit, and more, which they served from their booth at Plaza Park in Downtown Oxnard. Dozens of local community members came to enjoy the "pop-up restaurant." Great job, teens!!

Thank you, Oxnard Police Chief Jason Benites and Assistant Chief Denise Morehouse, for visiting the Martin V. Smith Youth Center today! We are excited for partnership growth to come, and are deeply grateful for the continued support, dedication, and service of the Oxnard Police Department to our Boys & Girls Clubs!

TWO Youth of the Years, Jazmin Quiroz Reyes (left, 2024 BGCOP Youth of the Year) and Daniella Ontiveros (right, 2023 BGCOP Youth of the Year), both graduated from Channel Islands High School last week and are off to college! We are so proud of these two spectacular young women and couldn't have had better representatives of our Clubs. Congratulations!

Together, there are #InfinitePossibilites! Members of our senior leadership team had an incredible time at the 118th Annual Boys & Girls Clubs of America National Conference over the last week. More than 3,000 dedicated Boys & Girls Club executives and professional staff from across the Movement gathered to reunite, create new connections, and learn about critical areas of impact. Plus, Kindness Is Free was spread everywhere and we celebrated the birthday of our CEO, Erin Antrim!

What an incredible morning. Thank you to everyone who made our 22nd Annual Great Futures for Kids Breakfast such a phenomenal event - especially these two extraordinary ladies: six-time Olympic medalist, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, and our 2024 Youth of the Year, Jazmin Quiroz Reyes. It was an honor to hear their stories of resilience and triumph, and their testaments to how the Boys & Girls Clubs have had such a tremendous impact on their lives. This morning was another reminder of just how special our community is. Thank you for believing in us, but more importantly, thank you for believing in the next generation. Our CEO, Erin Antrim, was the celebrity reader at ABC Kids Preschool this morning for the eighth annual Take 5 and Read to Kids Campaign by First 5 Ventura County. What an adorable way to start the day!! She read two books (in English and Spanish!), which she then signed and donated to the preschool.

Thank you for sharing about this incredible day! 2,000 local Boys & Girls Club members - 500 of which were members from the Oxnard and Port Hueneme Clubs - enjoyed this day full of kindness and unlimited free carnival rides, games, and food! One of the first teens to make it "cool" to be kind within her Club, she radiates respect, equality, and compassion. Samuel, our Junior Ambassador, is a positive, helpful friend to everyone. He genuinely respects and cares for others, and he shines so brightly, even in a Club of 80 youth and a family of 9.
