The future of AI can be fair and responsible, but we need to put the proper protocols in place to ensure bias-free decision making... Enter 𝘔𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘉𝘪𝘢𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘔𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨, written by my colleague/friend Carlotta Berry, Ph.D., and myself. We co-edited this book because the tech/data/AI industry desperately needs qualified folks in place to make sure we're using responsible AI that empowers, not excludes. 𝘔𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘉𝘪𝘢𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘔𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 is a practical guide in how to use machine learning to carry out actionable decisions that do not discriminate based on numerous human factors, including ethnicity and gender. Inside, we examine the many kinds of bias that occur in the field today and provide mitigation strategies that are ready to deploy across a wide range of technologies, applications, and industries.
