This team continues to grow the Cardiology program at Benefis Health System while keeping our patients as their focus. Thanks to their efforts, Benefis is now able to offer a number of new, less-invasive procedures, including TAVR, Watchman, and TCAR, meaning quicker recovery for patients and allowing them to receive treatment close to home. We are so thankful for the Cardiology team's energy and passion!

Congratulations to our Daisy Award winner Kyle Vandenacre! Kyle, an RN in the Emergency Department, was recently honored for his quick thinking and vital care after witnessing a shooting. Kyle happened to be in the drive-through line of a local fast-food restaurant when an employee was shot. He realized what was happening, jumped through the drive-through window, and rendered aid until paramedics and the ambulance arrived. Thank you for making a difference in our community, Kyle!

Please join us in congratulating Theresa Rambo for being named May's Benefis Best! Theresa is an operations specialist with sterile processing and has worked at Benefis Health System for 45 years. Theresa is known as the “queen” of her department’s tracking system and has jumped in to help with many new projects, including playing a major role in establishing the sterile processing department at the Helena Specialty Center, developing pediatric trauma carts, and preparing staff to take over sterile processing functions for Endoscopy. We'd like to thank Theresa for her dedication and expertise and offer an enthusiastic "thank you" for all she contributes to Benefis!

For National Doctors’ Day this year, and in recognition of our providers’ service, each of our Benefis locations donated a total of $23,000 to local food banks. Benefis contributed $8,000 to the Backpack4Kids Program through the Great Falls Community Food Bank, ensuring 950 packs reach elementary students weekly. Dr. Alexander Chung, Tracy Chung, Dr. Jeff Young, and Provider Recruiter Erica Martin spent time volunteering to stuff the packs for the program. Helena Food Share received a $5,000 donation from Benefis Helena for its Kids Pack program, ensuring children at risk of hunger have meals during the weekend. Dr. Brad Nieset presented the gift to Food Share Executive Director Bruce Day and Development Director Tim Joyce. Teton County Food Pantry also received $5,000 from Benefis Teton Medical Center, presented by Dr. Judy Borland; Karen Braseth, NP; Lisa Bowers, NP; Cherish Van Schaik, NP; and Paul Bradbury, PA-C. This support aids the food pantry’s critical needs, and they are pictured with food pantry Manager Katie Adams. Missouri River Medical Center showed its commitment to Chouteau County Food Pantry with a $5,000 donation on Doctors’ Day as well.
