About us
Behavioral Health Network, Inc. is a growing non-profit community behavioral health agency that has been providing services to children and families in Western Mass since 1938. As a comprehensive service system, with a focus on delivering professional services to those with mental illness, substance use disorders or intellectual disabilities, BHN’s funding sources are diverse. BHN holds contracts with the Departments of Mental Health, Public Health, Developmental Disabilities, Youth Services, and Medicaid, along with cities, towns, and various Federal departments. BHN also contracts with most health insurance companies. BHN and its programs have been instrumental in development of new services and meeting the behavioral health needs of the Pioneer Valley. We serve the most challenging individuals, utilize evidenced-based treatment models, and collaborate well with healthcare, social service organizations and educational systems to promote integrated quality services to individuals and their families.

We had an amazing time at the Youth Mental Health Celebration at the Basketball Hall of Fame last Friday! From the red carpet and dinner to the inspiring youth presentations and projects, it was incredible to see young people coming together to challenge mental health stigmas and share valuable information with their peers and families. Shout out to our volunteers, Cindy and Christine, for representing BHN, the Springfield Youth Mental Health Coalition and all the community partners who organized this event!

Today marks the celebration of Juneteenth, America's "Second Independence Day." Juneteenth honors the true end of slavery in the United States when two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, Union Troops arrived in Texas to free over 250,000 still enslaved people. This day presents an opportunity for us to reflect on the struggles and triumphs of the Black community, acknowledging their resilience and strength. While Juneteenth has long been celebrated within Black Communities, many Americans are unaware of the events that took place on June 19th, 1865. Let us use this day to educate ourselves and to continue working towards a more just and equitable society for all.
