Exciting advancements in imaging technologies, like 3D mammography, are improving breast cancer detection rates. This technology is particularly effective for women with dense breast tissue which is why it is crucial that if you have dense breast tissue and a mammogram is part of your screening protocol, you have a 3D mammogram. #womenshealth #earlydetection

At the recent ASCO 2024 conference, we heard a powerful speech about the life-saving impact of genetic testing. One brave individual shared how genetic testing revealed a BRCA mutation, leading to early intervention and, ultimately, saving her life. This story underscores the critical importance of genetic testing in breast cancer prevention and early detection. At Gabbi, we are dedicated to providing innovative genetic testing and personalized care plans that empower women to take proactive steps in their health journey. #ASCO2024 #GeneticTesting #BreastCancerAwareness #EarlyDetection #GabbiHealth #LifeSavingCare

Breaking News from the White House... #BidenCancerMoonshot
When the White House reached out to me to be part of an effort to end cancer, my first reaction was, "Am I being punk'd?" We have all been touched by cancer, myself included. Today, the President of the United States of America doubled down on his commitment to ending cancer by highlighting the need for the private and public sectors to galvanize its efforts. What does this mean for all of us? Well, Gabbi has been recognized by the White House for our commitment to expanding access to breast cancer screenings, early detection, and prevention. Now every woman can learn her risk of breast cancer so she can take action. We are democratizing access to breast specialists, so that no one has to wait weeks or months to get the care they need--mammograms, MRIs, ultrasounds, genetic testing--but can learn their risk and get the right care at the right time to lead to early detection. #BidenCancerMoonshot https://lnkd.in/g2vdyPYK

We are thrilled to be published in the AACR Journals. The Gabbi Risk Assessment Model (GRAM), an innovative machine learning model, is based on medical claims developed to provide personalized breast cancer risk prediction. GRAM efficiently estimates risk and utilizes potentially missing risk factor information. Early detection saves lives. Gabbi is on a mission to connect all women to care and resources, fast. Learn your risk and get connected with a board certified team of breast specialists, today. #cancerearlydetection #cancerprevention #breastcancer #womenshealth
Today President Biden proclaimed April 2024 as National Cancer Prevention and Early Detection Month to "honor the enormous courage and strength of the millions of Americans facing the disease today and of the many millions of survivors, whose resilience inspires us all." We've made enormous progress in the fight against cancer, but there's still work to be done. Cancer is the second-leading cause of death in the United States, and this year we expect to see more than 2 million new cases of cancer diagnosed across the country. To achieve the #CancerMoonshot and cut the cancer death rate by at least 50% in the next 25 years, we must prioritize cancer research, early detection, and prevention—The White House has a meaningful opportunity to make progress in the latter by finalizing the FDA's proposed rules to eliminate the sale of menthol cigarettes and flavored cigars immediately. Together with the American Cancer Society, we look forward to continuing to work with the Biden Administration to end cancer as we know it, for everyone. #NationalCancerPreventionAndEarlyDetectionMonth #CancerPrevention #EarlyDetection #ProhibitMenthol #CancerAdvocacy https://lnkd.in/e8RDV3Gr

Olivia Munn has highlighted a significant limitation of breast cancer screening: mammography is not a one-size-fits-all solution. This article excellently articulates the importance of every woman understanding her risk for breast cancer through a multifaceted approach. - Breast Cancer Risk Assessment - Appropriate screening (mammogram, breast ultrasound, breast MRI) at the appropriate time - Genetic Testing if needed - Clinical Breast Exams with your healthcare provider - Self-breast awareness, knowing how your breasts look and feel While mammograms are considered the standard of care for detecting breast cancer, and likely are not going anywhere anytime soon (mammograms detect microcalcifications, tiny calcium deposits in the breast that may be an early sign of abnormal cell growth, better than a breast ultrasound or a breast MRI) they may not be an effective screening exam for all women. Even within mammography, there are options. Young women, and women with dense breast tissue (nearly 50% of all women over the age of 40 have dense breast tissue), should ask their providers about 3D mammograms which have been shown to increase the cancer detection rate in certain cases. They should also ask about adjunct screening exams with breast ultrasound or breast MRI along with their annual mammograms. To learn about your breast cancer risk and what steps you should be taking, check out Gabbi's risk assessment and telehealth care. https://lnkd.in/guagW-Zb #womenshealth #breastcancer #breastcancerdiagnosis #preventativehealth

Gabbi was created by our founder, Kaitlin Christine to bring early detection solutions and breast cancer risk assessments to all women. Read her story below. #breastcancer #breastcancerriskassessment #womenshealth
For those who don’t know this about me, I like Olivia Munn had a double mastectomy at the age of 24. Here’s a photo of smiling through it, but the pain of the procedure was brutal. When I was 22, I lost my mother to breast cancer. Unlike Olivia Munn, I did have the genes associated with elevated breast cancer risk, but I learned how many women, like Munn, don't have the genetic component and do have an elevated risk. Helping women figure out their risk has become my life’s work. At Gabbi we built the exact thing that helped Olivia Munn get that initial MRI, leading to a biopsy, that led to the diagnosis. What we’ve built is a risk calculator, using technology, that incorporates factors like age of first period and family history to determine a woman’s true risk. Those with a certain risk, like Munn, are encouraged to get a breast MRI from the age of 30, versus waiting until the annual mammogram at 40 or later. We have a team of breast specialists that can order your breast MRI via telehealth in FL, MD, ME, MN, CT and are adding new states each month. Fellow women, please take this as your reminder to spark into action. Find out your risk. Get tested. No one should have to go through the pain of late-stage breast cancer, if there was a chance to catch it early.
