Barclay has developed and helped maintain site-specific Water Management Programs for hundreds of facilities in accordance with these CDC recommendations. Want to know more? Email our Environmental Group at environmentalgroup@barclaywater.com. #watermanagementprograms #wmp #healthcare
Consideration 1: Maintain a water management program. Certain plumbing conditions can even encourage microbial growth, leading to dangerously high levels of potential pathogens. Healthcare facilities must evaluate their water use for its risk to harbor and transmit healthcare-associated pathogens.

If you're not already, you may want to consider supplemental treatment for the potable water in your facility. Cara Johnson, an Environmental Group Manager here at Barclay, tells us why.

They're beautiful to have in your facility but did you know that the aerosols from decorative fountains have been linked to Legionnaires' disease outbreaks? The CDC recommends regular maintenance and treatment of any decorative water features, especially those in hospitals, extended care facilities and retirement homes, units with stagnant water, additional organic load or submerged lighting. Barclay's solution includes chemical treatment, testing and periodical cleaning of your decorative water features. Ask our Environmental Group how we can keep your water features safe, clean and beautiful at environmentalgroup@barclaywater.com. #watertreatment #waterhygiene

Barclay Water Management, Inc. reposted this
The tower deck is often overlooked during routine visual inspections during service visits. It takes just a little more effort to climb on top and lift up the covers. But it can be lead to some crucial information. I was doing a survey of a prospects tower and noticed a build up of debris on the tower deck. Prospect said he didn’t have any issues with his water treatment but this proved otherwise. Not only does this debris prevent equal water distribution and therefore drastically reduce tower efficiency (driving up operational costs). But it’s indicative that their chemistry is all out of whack and causing iron corrosion (confirmed from our lab’s deposit analysis). Moral of the story? Sometimes taking a little extra effort can uncover problems you didn’t know existed.
