About us
The Arizona Alliance for Community Health Centers (AACHC) is the Primary Care Association (PCA) for the State of Arizona. All states have one designated PCA to advance the expansion of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and advocate for the health care interests of the medically underserved and uninsured. AACHC, as a result, has many programs to assist member community health centers and the disadvantaged populations they serve. These programs vary from centralizing financial information and educational opportunities for members to peer networking committees for sharing of best practices.

July is National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. This month, we focus on the unique mental health challenges racial and ethnic minorities in the US face. According to the FDA, in 2020, fewer than one in every two African American adults received mental health care. In 2018, Asian Americans were 60% less likely to receive mental health treatment than non-Hispanic Whites. Obstacles like a lack of health insurance, less access to treatment, and stigma are significant barriers. Community Health Centers are committed to supporting the #MentalHealth of our communities by providing culturally and linguistically appropriate care and resources. To find a community health center near you, visit: https://ow.ly/Nsxn50StR03 Let's support mental health for all! #MentalHealth #ValueCHCs #MinorityMentalHealth

For our staff retreat, AACHC team members and their families spent an incredible afternoon at AMC Centerpoint 11 in Tempe for a private viewing of "Inside Out 2." Free popcorn, snacks, and drinks made the event even better. Plus, the "Inside Out" trivia session was a hit! Huge thanks to our People & Culture team for putting on such a fun event – we're better together! #TeamAACHC

AACHC team members and partners from the Maricopa County Department of Public Health recently packed over 250 harm reduction kits to help prevent overdose deaths and save lives. The kits contain materials to detect harmful additives in unregulated drug supplies like fentanyl and xylazine, which increase the risk of overdose. The kits will be distributed to community health centers and placed in Narcan vending machines. Shoutout to Melinda Cobb (third from left), AACHC special projects manager, for leading this effort! #HarmReduction #HarmReductionSavesLives
